Default coyote pelt question

got a coyote this morning. i plan to skin it this afternoon but don't have time to flesh, sew a hole and board till later. my plan is to salt it down with pickling salt then wrap and freeze till later.
question...... if i decide to sell it at a future date would fur buyer still buy since i salted it first? i also plan to sew the hole with 10 lbs. braided fishing line. what do you guys use? i know one fellow who uses dental floss. thanks.
it's nap time.

Just wrap and freeze, forget the salt. I use waxed dental floss for sewing. It's quite strong and easier to work with than fishing line IMO.

Forget the salt...it will stop it from freezing. And sew it up after you flesh it. Fishing line will work....I always used waxed thread but I always had some around for other reasons.

No salt if you are not going to flesh it. Just throw it in the freezer. Why even skin it now? Just hang it in the shed or in the freezer whole until your ready then thaw it out.

thanks for the feedback guys. i might just hang it whole for now but was worried about how long it would take to thaw when i do have time. plus you never know with are goofy weather if it will be plus 10 on the weekend when i was going to go fishing.

For the time it takes you are better off skinning it fresh, and then freeze the pelt skin side out in a bag. It is supposed to warm up tomorrow and there is a good chance your yapper might get a green belly before it freezes hard.

No salt.

Dental floss like mentioned is good. I go to the drugstore and you can buy sutures for cheap. The curved needle is attached to the thread already and the curved needle makes it perfect for sewing up damage. I get the heaviest gauge.
