Default 300 WM ammo suggestions

Have a Tikka T3 300 WM and leupold v3 with CDS. Need to figure out which ammo groups best so I can send away for my custom dial. I'm sure all guns are different but thought I'd ask if anyone had the same gun/caliber and a favorite brand of ammo for a place to start. Looking for 180g so lots of options out there and wide price range. Not in to hand loading yet. Bought a box of federal power shok but haven't been to the range yet.

I've had good luck with the federal blue box with the 180 grain Speer hot core. They shoot good enough that I haven't even bothered to hand load for it

Winchester Supreme 180gr Accubonds or the Elite XP3's in 180gr get my vote.

If I was going to try factory loads the Barnes Vortex line is really good!!

What kind on info do you need to send in for the CDS?
Do you need to chrono your shots?

I'd go with Hornady box ammo. Also the Federal Fusions work well consistently.

I have the same gun but can't offer any factory load suggestions as mine has only seen handloads , however it does like Hornady bullets . Sub MOA with 150, 165 and 180's . Enjoy your new toy .

Default Factory loads

Federal Blue Box are 180 Speers so they would be good. I like the Fusions in other calibre's but have never tested the .300 Win. The only two loads that were up to par, and I mean that I've tried velocity wise was the Remington 200 grain A-Frame and the plain cheap 180 grain Remington Core-Lokt. If you wanted something aerodynamic the Accubonds are near the top. The 190 Bergers shoot very well in my gun so the HSM might be worth a try. Then there is the Hornady line. A guy could spend a small fortune just on different boxes of factory loads!

Federal Fusions were by far the best in my Tikka T3. Tried Powershoks and Bluebox as well.

I've had good luck with hornady factory ammo in other calibers but never tried it in 300 but if you are willing to spend the cash on hornady I would be very surprised if they didn't work out well.

Default Great response!

May as well get a box of the top 3 and see what works best with my gun. As far as I know all I need to do is send Leupold the brand of ammo and they take care of the rest. Thanks for you input.

For the price I'm going to have to try the super X 180's! They have great reviews on wholesales website too.
