Default Question for elk hunters

I spend most of my hunting time chasing after upland birds and waterfowl and this weekend I'm trying my luck looking for some blue grouse. I'm heading into an area where I have come across back country elk hunters before and I'm wondering if I'm going to end up upsetting the big game guys by firing off shots in the area. It is a huge mountain area we would be in but I'm just curious what you guys think since I'm not experienced with big game habits. I wouldn't want to ruin the work another hunters put in.

If you hunt long enough it is inevitable that you will knowingly or unknowingly fowl someone's hunt. It has happened to me and I intruded on others as well. When it happens, hopefully the intruder apologizes and carries on their way. Crown land is for everyone's use, as has been mentioned.

Pfft.
You're as likely to spook one towards them as away from them.
As long as you give them some space and try to keep out of their shooting lanes if they are set up in a blind... nobody reasonable should get a lip on.

It was thoughtful of you to think to ask though.

Have a good hunt.

So true, had some deer hunters push a beauty of a bull elk to my brother last year.

Go have fun.
