Default " Book" Buffalo

I have a question for anyone who has hunted the buff in our province which are legal but not on the draw system. Do these animals, taken in fair chase, qualify for the "book"? P&Y or B&C

Thanks All and best of luck tippin a big Whitey Over !!

Default fair chase rules

as per B&C and P&Y fair chase rules the animal must be taken during an open season and under a hunting license for said season...even though its legal to shoot buffalo there is no season or license so it would not meet the requirements.

The only way to take a "book" bison in Alberta is under the draw tags that are given out.

Hope this helps

sheep reaper you are Not 100% corect. you can take a pope and young "Book" Bison with out a tag. there are expections. there rules state"In complete compliance with the controlling state/provincial hunting regulations".
