Some of you may recall I mentioned a while back that an old buddy of mine had a couple left handed rifles for sale, he had a pace maker put in and can't shoot anymore as that is the side the pace maker is on.
Anyway over the past 8 months I have driven him and his wife to Edmonton 6 times for appointments, most of them are overnighters, a couple were 2 nights, he is a retired RCMP so they stay at Velour Place on 111 Ave, they shuttle him from there to the Royal Alex and back and I stay with the kids in Stony Plain then we head back home when he is done.
Well the other day he calls me to come over and give him a hand cleaning up and sorting out his reloading supplies, his son wants to reload but only shoots 308 so we sorted out all the 30 cal bullets, powder and large rifle primers for him to use.
Then he say's if you can use any of that other stuff it's yours just pay me the price that's marked on it and take it.
I said bud are you sure, that stuff has quadrupled in price since you bought it, I know he said but you carted my old butt around all year no way we could have done it without you so this is my way of saying thank you. Powder and large rifle magnum primers are like little gold bricks these day's, that's a heck of a way to say thank you.
I never once ever gave it a second thought when driving him back and forth, we always drive his pickup and burn his gas, heck I'm retired and he is my buddy it's just what you do to help out a friend, sometimes Karma is good.
