Just wondering what stage of the moose rut we are in now? In my area, I've noticed less traffic on camera's.

I'd say rut is slacking off now. It was slow for us until the 27th. Called in a small Bull in the afternoon but passed. Shot my Bull the next morning. My buddy killed his on the 29th.
I have killed a Bull in early November hot after a cow.

I called in a younger bull to about 10 yards on friday. He came in with a 3 foot long drool hanging from his mouth lol. He was very interested.
I was there with my 6 year old and after I stood up and scared the bull off when he got "too close", my 6 year old continued to call him back 2 more times to 20 yards. He really wanted to meet a lady moose!

Still seeing moose in the fields in the mornings on the way to work, hope they're active this weekend!

Called a bull in and arrowed him on monday...he came in grunting away to some cow calls. Went back out the next night to recover my arrow and had another bull out in the same field with his nose up a cows behind.
They are still goin good where i'm at.

Here's hoping they're still responding to calls - my son has a tag to fill yet.

True! We're getting to that time here soon!
AO's own Brad Fenson has a good article to point us in the right direction:
https://www.outdoorcanada.ca/late-se...after-the-rut/
The hard part is that the bulls are less distributed after the rut, as they put aside their grievances with the other bulls and hang out in closer proximity with each other. So now you have to find the pockets where these groups hang out.
The upside is, when you find such a "pocket", you have a bit of choice as to which bull you want to take home and warm up in your smoker.

I put a stand up overlooking a dugout today after seeing a bull and a cow show up at last light yesterday but not being able to get over there in time and tonight a cow calf pair showed up.
Should have done it sooner!
I wonder if it's too late to try putting a decoy up?

^ Only the moose know when the rut is truly over, so I say what is there to lose?
Give it a shot man.

Found a cow calf pair and a lone cow saturday while walking through the bush.
Today I picked another bush East of those moose to walk through and came upon a decent bull however he had me when I came up the slight hill, 94 yards away and obviously no shot. If in rifle season that probably would have been a dead bull.

That bull is now a dead bull. Found him the same way I found him earlier with my bow, same location even.

Thanks! Wished it was a bow kill but what can you do when you have a tag to fill after a 6 year wait.
