BCE just mentions the dividend and shaky investors bail like the sky is falling.
But my skeptical side is they brought this up to see what the reaction is because corporate would love to cut dividend so they can have more cash flow.

It’s an oligopoly so I’m just holding and will take the 6-8% dividend.
They will recovery as mention it an oligopoly in Canada it just Roger, Telus and bell. They run all the telecommunications and Canada pay the highest rate for cellular and internet services.

The market told you all you needed to know today. Already in a pile of debt and now overpaying for a business in the States where they want to spend a bunch on upgrading to fibre?? They should have used the cash from the sports deal to pay down debt and maybe shore up after a couple debt downgrades.

And the whole sector is having a tough time to make matters worse. Just look at the performance over the last ten years for any of the telcos. Painful. Not interested in bottom fishing here either.

Default Chicken Little here

I will admit I am a bit nervous about the US election’s effect on the market. Took some chips off the table so I could sleep better tonight. Fingers crossed.

I am not sure if anyone here had this local Alberta company in their sight but if you did invested in it a year ago- you must be laughing your head off all the way to the bank! Terra Vest industries out of Vegreville… 175% run up to date! Wowsers!

STEP energy is going private again.

Rumours floating around that they were gonna go bankrupt, so ARC financial stepped in again.

Great day for those who own American banks. JP/Citi/Wells all up nicely.
