Hey guys, new to the forum but quick question. I am based out of Edmonton and was just wondering what are some good starter creeks/streams/rivers to try out. I tried clearwater earlier this year and was in a little over my head. I am confident in wading so wont be just looking for shore fishing. I'm willing to travel as far as 3 hours out. Thanks again for all the help.
give the Little Smoky and Freeman for grayling a try. they are a lot less fussy then trout and both rivers have decent populations of various size classes.
the Bigstone out by Nordegg is also a decent cutthroat river that is easy to walk and wade and has some nice fish willing to take a fly. farther you get away from the campground the better the fishing.

yes Bighorn. Senior moment and i am not a senior yet.
blackstone can be good also, but not as walk and wade friendly as the Bighorn and you have to watch out for the grizzs that make the river home in some stretches.
