Default Sherburne Res (Grassy Lake)

Does anyone know if the launch is open or is it still closed?

Its locked with a chain gate. You need to complete a commitment form, available at www.grassylakerec.ca email it back to me, kouleerunner@gmail.com and I can provide you the combination for the lock.

We are also starting to look for donations for a dock, and for a campground. As of right now, no camping is allowed! We are working with SMRID to get this organized, with the Grassy Lake Rec Board. If anyone would like to contribute, please PM me.

No camping allowed? When I was there last summer there was a village of trailers there, mid week. No one around.

SMRID put campers on notice last fall, and evicted several campers that were there without permission, and threatened trespassing charges. The only camper that is allowed to be on site is the Launch Host, who will have permission from SMRID to be there. Anyone else who is there will be subject to trespassing charges.

We are working toward a solution for camping, and a boat dock, with the MD of Taber, The Grassy Lake recreation Board, and SMRID. This, of course, takes time, and money. We would gracious accept any donations to the cause!

How about charging a launch fee as they do pretty much everywhere else. This could go towards repairing the launch, putting a dock in etc.
