Default Recommendations For Knife Dealers

Hello Folks,

I recently picked up a RAT-3 from Crown Surplus in Calgary - awesome knife btw.

I am having a difficult time locating dealers selling other brands. ie: ESEE...etc

I've pretty much exhausted the Calgary area and was looking for recommendations in Alberta or online. I refuse to do the Amazon/Ebay thing as I cannot verify authenticity.

I look forward to researching some of your experiences and recommendations!

Thanks,

~Trap

I've always had great experiences with W&W:

http://www.warriorsandwonders.com

They're located in Vancouver, prices are about as good as it gets in Canada. Close second would be S&R knives out of Ontario

Have you tried KnivesShipFree? Unfortunately shipping isn't quite free for those of us north of the border but its still only a flat ten bucks. Derrick buys straight from the manufacturers and of course puts his name behind what he does

Approximately 1 month ago, I purchased an ESEE Izula II with G10 scales from https://www.theknifeconnection.net/ Their pricing was the best I could find. To both my surprise and delight, my order arrived at my door within 1 week and with no hidden charges. These scales feel very comfortable in my size XXL hands.

Two weeks ago, I ordered an ESEE 6 blade only, sheath, G10 scales, and belt clip. IIRC, my order arrived in 8 days and again with no hidden charges. This knife is well balanced and the scales are super comfortable.

With my Wicked Edge sharpener, I easily put a shaving sharp 20 degree edge on both knives.

Hope this proves useful to you.

Bobby

I will second knivesshipfree. I have been buying knives from them for years and I am extremely happy with the service. Prices are good, $5 flat rate shipping is great, and great selection. Don't like the scale color? Here is 500 other options.

I haven't ordered from these guys but they have quite a selection on their site and they're Canadian which is bonus.

Thank you! I will check these all out. I haven't purchased any knives online yet. I was waiting for good references and experiences first. All have been very helpful. Thank you again!

Wow You're not kidding, I won't be ordering from them anytime soon if I can find it elsewhere. They do have some harder to find stuff though.

Cutting Edge in North Hill Mall have great selections (rat/cold steel/spyderco-on & On). Target Macleod Trail. Knifewear in Inglewood altho chefs knives now have a barbers supply with some quality survival knives. Bushcraft is good and great selection service, no storefront, based in Kelowna. Check out 911 supply and Seals (both YYC) that have some good combat knife types.

I've ordered online from both Bushcraft Canada and Warriors and Wonders. Both top notch and both have real time inventory so if it says it's in stock, it's in stock. There's also that Army Surplus store in West Edmonton Mall that carries ESEE, they had a pretty good Boxing week sale last year too. I think it was 25% off ESEE knives if I remember correctly.

Supply Sergeant in WEM are generally overpriced.. but they definitely have good sales from time to time. I picked up a Benchmade 710 for $100 a few years ago - ridiculously good deal. Worth checking out if you're in the area IMO

Default Knife dealer

If you are ever down in Montana check out Ruana knives. Fantastic blades check their website out www.ruanaknives.com. I have one and it is a knife you have for life.

Thanks All!

Looks like Milarm is having a huge Boxing Day sale which includes Ka-Bar. Going to pick up some to add to my collection.

With the exchange rate right now its hard to beat their prices. Also you don't have any customs delays or UPS/Fedex BS (avoid them at all costs for international.. "brokerage fees" abound)
