Default Tips for hunting black bear

Hey everyone, I’m going black bear hunting for the first time this year. I’m super excited and I was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips that would be helpful as I’ve never hunted them before. Thanks!

Make damn sure you know the difference between a Black and a Grizzly, they could be just about anywhere these days.

If the ears look big compared to its head - likely small bear
If the legs look long compared to body - likely small bear
If your first reaction is "I'm not sure if its a big bear or a small bear" - likely small bear

If front end is equal to or larger than rear end - likely big bear
If you can visibly see a crease down the middle of its forehead - likely big bear
If your first reaction is "Holy crap that's a big fat bear" - likely big big bear

Its addicting - just get out there and see what its all about!
