Default RIP Louie the GSP

Well dang, I had to send Louie across the rainbow bridge tonight. What's worse is my son is out of town and he had to face time with me for it.Louie perked up when he heard my son's voice though.
Pretty tough all around. But he had a pheasant wing to sniff as we said goodbye.
He's now running with his brother Jacob and His best buddy Tramp, that goofy old Griffon .
I'm pretty tore up right now .......

Sorry for your loss Cat. All the best to you and your Family. Never easy, as so many of us know. Good luck sir. Louis is indeed running with all who have left before him.

Thanks, that dog was legend when it came to pointing but not bumping porcupines !
As rock solid as the best on birds as well.

I know how you feel, my dog died last Sunday, not unexpected but still a blow. He was about 15 far as we could tell and has been fading for a while. He developed vestibular disease 2 years ago and it was at that point I started to dig his grave, every day was a pleasant surprise. Probably the last dog I will own, I planted a spruce tree there to honor him.

Real sorry to hear that Cat, that's always a terrible hard thing when it happens. I've been there, and I know I will be again at some point. They really are the best kind of friend.

I have seen many come and go, each one special, the only problem with dogs is they don't live long enough and they give far more than we deserve !
This was Louie working out with a wing getting ready for hunting season last year.

After our last dog passed my wife and I both thought no more dogs, but 18 months later we brought home a doodle named Archie.
It is amazing what our pets bring into our world, no questions asked and plenty of tale wags
I'm sure you will reconsider

My deepest condolences to you, Robbie, and the whole family. Louie lived the life that all hunting dogs should. Loved and cherished and hunted like crazy. So hard for all you.

Cat, post up all the happy hunting pictures of Louie on this thread. We’d love to see them. Remembering is the best way to honour our furry friends.

Sorry on the loss of Louie and all the best to you and your son. You are 100% correct on dogs not living long enough. Some dogs are very lucky in falling into homes that love the outdoors.

The retrivers, pointers that are in hunting homes they have a bit of heaven here on earth. From your pictures Louie was one of those lucky dogs.

All the best

Default Goodbye Louie

Oh I'm so sorry to this news. Elk is right, they leave way too soon. Sienna is 10 now and I'm still doing pretty well and I know I couldn't stand not haveing a dog, so due to news like this I have bought myself a new puppy, and you guys will love her, Chloe of Happy Valley and she is hot as a firecracker with an attitude. I've lost 5 lbs since she arrived.

If I can train her well enough maybe we can put a trigger together this fall.

That would be fantastic, greatly appreciated, Densa!
I think there is a small Musterlander in the future, but not right away .
