Default P&D Enterprises

Went over there today, as it’s been a while since I shopped there.
The store is still awesome, but getting over to the store was about a frustrating as can be, construction and detours all around the store, and now paid parking on the street.
Edmonton is a write off to me, and sorry Phil and Diane, it’ll be quite some time before I head your way again.

Edmonton and its roads and traffic, pretty much exceed the limits of my medications.

And I grew up in Edmonton and learned to drive there!

If you park on same side of road as the store, parking is still free. Rest of the area went paidparking because of the University.

I avoid P&D, because I hate the location so much.

Haven't stopped by there for some time now but the last time I was there it was a struggle just to get to them, I just had my 3 month appointment at the Cross at 8:00 this morning, drove from the kids house in Stony Plain in rush hour traffic and yes once every 3 months is plenty for me, between the construction and the idiots I had my fill again. I lived in Edmonton and surrounding area for 26 years but absolutely could never move back there.

Not anymore. Was there last week

There is still free parking around but the area is steadily getting worse with drug addicts and other unsavory types. The traffic is the same as it has always been, miserable.

Great store though. I picked up some supplies the were half the cost of what cabelas has jacked their prices to. Would be nice to see them relocate to a better spot but I’m glad they’re still around. We’ve lost too many good shops.

Haven't been there for about a month. Wonder if I missed the paid parking sign or if it is that new.

Too bad, will be hard on P&D's business. Paid parking has killed the businesses downtown. Between the rampant theft, all the Zombies walking around, no parking, and what you can find is expensive, over half the store fronts are closed up. Extending paid parking further out is just more proof that the Administration fails to learn from past failures, which doesn't surprise me really given the boundless stupidity and greed of the City Administration.

Not only won't I live in Edmonton, I try to not even go there to shop or do anything else. The place has become the spot you plug in the Colonoscopy tube.

there are no 'free" parking spots the last time I was there, about a month ago but if you feed your licence plate to the parking meter you can opt for 15 free minutes and a loonie gets you an hour I think. if people avoid shopping at P&D it will be just that much harder for them to stay in business. great little store and friendly staff that were always quick to help find what I was looking for. the parking charges weren't added because of suggestions from any business on that street, don't take it out on them.

Agree completely. I will still shop at P&D to support them. They and a few others are an exception to my Edmonton boycott. They have been a long time strong store that is well managed and well stocked. Not all that many businesses in Edmonton I would say that about.

WE can't afford to lose places like that, so I will put up with the traffic and paid parking, hopefully lots of others will too. I think if Dennis and Diane were younger they might seriously consider moving. St Albert and Sherwood Park would be great options, but at their age I doubt that is in the cards.

I’ve always said; Edmonton is a decent place to earn a living…..and a great place to dump your garbage!

I left that cesspool in 1999, never to return.

Just take the LRT or your bicycle there. So much better way to get around! (Very strong sarcasm there)
